Reclaimed Redwood

No standing trees have been harvested for our furniture. Our redwood comes solely from demolition sites, wine or water tanks, or salvaged logs. It’s reclaimed, in other words, which helps preserve the priceless resource of our ancient forests.

Salvaged Douglas FIR

Much of the Doug fir we use derives from deconstructed industrial buildings. The buildiing might have outlived its purpose, but not the wood. A lot of trouble to go to? Not really. Especially considering the devastation that logging brings to fir forests. Whit saw firsthand that damage when he did animal studies for the Forest Service after graduating college.

Scrap Copper

Even the copper that goes into our furniture has been reclaimed. Usually from our local scrap yard or motor repair shop. We have our own foundry for melting the scrap that’s refashioned into copper tiles for our end tables. On occasion, Whit melts wire with tin to produce bronze that we use in our custom hardware or our dining table hardware.
