The sweeping, airy lines of our open-arm design are a living tribute to the William Morris original. Traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery throughout. With four adjustable recline positions and upholstery so plush it takes a half minute before you fully sink in. A chair of heirloom quality expressly meant for day-in, day-out living.

MATERIAL: White oak from salvaged wine casks. Quarter-sawn, with smoky burgundy highlights. French oak casks first put to use in 1905. Cresta Blanca winery, Livermore, CA.

FINISH: Hand-rubbed shellac. Fumed in the traditional way with ammonia for a golden tan to dark brown coloring. Burgundy wine staining on legs with a hint on the arms as well.
